These guidelines ensure fundraising on Amply is trustworthy, transparent, and effective. All fundraisers must follow these rules.

Core Principles

Honesty

All campaign content must be truthful:

  • Accurate descriptions of organizations
  • Honest personal stories
  • No exaggerated or false claims
  • No misleading use of data or images

Transparency

Be open with donors:

  • Funds go directly to organizations
  • No personal benefit from donations
  • Clear about your relationship to the cause
  • Honest about what donations will achieve

Respect

Treat everyone with respect:

  • Donors, organizations, and other fundraisers
  • Don't pressure or guilt-trip
  • Respect privacy
  • Accept decisions gracefully

Campaign Requirements

Content Standards

Allowed:

  • Personal stories and connections
  • Organization information from official sources
  • Accurate impact data and outcomes
  • Photos you have rights to use
  • Links to verified information

Not Allowed:

  • False or misleading claims
  • Graphic violence or disturbing imagery
  • Hate speech or discrimination
  • Political campaign content
  • Commercial promotion
  • Content that infringes others' rights

Organization Selection

You may only fundraise for:

  • Amply-verified organizations
  • Organizations that accept fundraisers
  • Causes you can honestly represent

You may not:

  • Fundraise for yourself or personal gain
  • Create campaigns for non-verified entities
  • Misrepresent your relationship to organizations

Goal Setting

Set realistic goals:

  • Based on your actual reach
  • Achievable within your timeframe
  • Honest about what the amount will accomplish

Avoid:

  • Inflated goals for attention
  • Goals that imply specific outcomes you can't guarantee
  • Promises about organizational actions you can't control

Fundraiser Conduct

Verification Requirements

All fundraisers must:

  • Complete identity verification
  • Provide accurate personal information
  • Update information if it changes
  • Respond to verification requests

Campaign Management

You must:

  • Monitor your campaign
  • Respond to questions promptly
  • Provide updates to donors
  • Report any issues to Amply

You may not:

  • Abandon active campaigns
  • Ignore donor concerns
  • Make changes that mislead existing donors
  • Transfer campaign ownership without approval

Communication

With Donors:

  • Thank them appropriately
  • Provide updates as promised
  • Be honest about outcomes
  • Protect their privacy

About Organizations:

  • Use accurate information
  • Don't speak on behalf of organizations
  • Direct detailed questions to organizations
  • Share official updates, not speculation

Prohibited Activities

Fraud and Deception

Absolutely prohibited:

  • Creating campaigns for fake or unverified causes
  • Misrepresenting how funds will be used
  • Using someone else's identity or story
  • Creating fake urgency or emergencies
  • Manipulating donors through false information

Financial Misconduct

You may not:

  • Suggest funds will go to you
  • Imply personal access to funds
  • Request donations outside Amply
  • Offer rewards or incentives
  • Create multiple accounts to circumvent limits

Platform Abuse

Prohibited:

  • Automated campaign creation
  • Spam or excessive messaging
  • Harassment of donors or others
  • Circumventing verification
  • Exploiting platform vulnerabilities

Sensitive Topics

Emergency and Disaster Campaigns

For urgent crisis fundraising:

  • Only for verified organizations responding
  • Must accurately represent the situation
  • No exploitation of tragedy
  • Update as situations evolve

Medical Campaigns

If fundraising for health causes:

  • Verify organization actually provides stated services
  • Don't make promises about individual outcomes
  • Respect privacy of any individuals mentioned
  • Be accurate about medical information

Memorial Campaigns

For honoring someone:

  • Have appropriate connection or permission
  • Respect the wishes of family
  • Accurately represent the person
  • Don't exploit grief

Enforcement

Review Process

Campaigns are reviewed for:

  • Accuracy of claims

Most campaigns approved within 24 hours.

Violations
